Holley's Story..................
Holley is an energetic, fun spirited almost 4 year old (she turns 4 in July) little girl, but she is very small for age.  Holley has battled some sort of medical condition since she was born, but she has always been a fighter.   She was in the NICU for 5 days when she was born because she couldn't get enough oxygen, had a feeding tube inserted and then had Jaundice.  She fought all of that and got out of the hospital, but then we battled finding the right formula for her because the breast milk and other formulas wouldn't stay in her tummy and caused her to gag and have trouble breathing.   She has battled problems with not being able to swallow baby food, which caused her to not gain weight, she also battled problems with her eyes.  She was even delayed in being able to crawl and walk.  With lots of determination and finding ways to help her she has gotten through all of that!  But there is one condition we are battling on a daily basis, since Holley turned a year old, they suspected that she has a growth deficiency because she stopped growing once she hit 9 months old.  After several different tests, the blood work showed that she did have a growth deficiency and wasn't producing enough hormones to help her grow.  But at that age, children don't have enough growth hormones in their body's, but it was a start in moving in the right direction in finding out why she wasn't growing.  So we were referred to an Endocrinologist who over the past 3+ years has helped us get all the testing done to get to find the right diagnosis.  After years of blood work that always stayed to the same (no improvement), a bone x-ray showing her bones are two years behind her age, two growth stimulation tests (a two hour test where they inject a hormone and monitor how it is reacting to her body by taking her blood every 30 minutes) and an MRI showing that her pituitary gland is not only small but it is behind the stalk from where they normally are, which means that it is only producing a tiny amount of hormones but not enough to help her grow.  Since Holley was 1 years old she has been below the growth chart and has grown at a very small rate.  She is almost 4 years old now but if you put her next to a 2 year old, they are exactly the same size.
The Endocrinologist Doctor officially diagnosed her with a Growth Hormone Deficiency in December 2013.  February 2014 we began doing daily injections of a growth hormone.  Every night before bed, I have to inject her with the medicine.   Holley will have to take growth hormone injections until she is about 18 years old.  She isn't scared of the injections anymore, but the first two months were really tough, but now she knows the routine, she will help me get the Band-Aid ready while I get the injection pen ready and while we do the injection (it takes about 15 seconds) we sing the ABC's.  Because Holley has a growth hormone deficiency and due to the deficiency she has high stress levels and it is hard to potty train her.  She will always have to have tests done to make sure that she doesn't begin to have a thyroid deficiency or any other complications.  If she doesn't receive the treatment it will affect her growth, her development, could affect her having children later in life.
The Growth Hormone Injections Holley receives cost about $560 for a one month supply, she will have visit her specialist every couple  months, more blood work every couple of months and more x-rays and MRI's in her future.  We go for another check up this week and we have been talking about having her see an ENT Doctor because the injection can caused large adenoids and she still battles stomach problems and may need to see a Gastroenterologist.

Thank you for taking the time to read about my Holley Pop, I have put together this fundraiser to raise money for Holley and her needs, the fundraiser will run until July 1st.
There are multiple different fundraising options I am doing.
